A neighbour gave us lots of apples - 3 whole bags! I got to work on them straight away. Baking a whole tray of them with cinnamon and brown sugar. So good.

Our new couch arrived in the middle of the afternoon. It came in three boxes; we had to assemble it ourselves. We weren't aware of this whilst purchasing it.

Whilst watching The Thieving Hand (1906) I noticed a matte painting of an alleyway next to a pawnbrokers. Matte paintings in old cinema are a wonderful thing. They usually depict landscapes so it was nice to notice one depicting a small detail of a city.

Outside the apartment is a gravel path through a wooded area. Heavy footed people sound like rock beasts chewing stone. Sometimes.

Morning. Heavy rain cleared slowly. Languid grey.

Prepared a meal of potatoes, carrots and noodles in a tomato, mushroom sauce.

After lunch watched the trains at Pitäjänmäki.

Evening meal. Pasta in a rosemary and tarragon white sauce made with almond milk.
